  1. Hi Im in Mutual Fund TfsA but I lost lots due to declining economy now, my question is Im going to open a TFSA savings account and will transfer my money from Mutual Fund to TFSA savings account. Will i be penalized by CRA? or any penalty whatsoever? Thnk you!

  2. I did a calculation, maybe I did something wrong ? if I invested $1,000 in index funds I would make $67 in one year. looks like it's going to take about 40 years to get anywhere

  3. My dad has been developing ETFs for 20 years but I still have no idea how it all works. He isn’t the best teacher and these videos help me understand his work a lot better. Thanks!

  4. Thank you so much for this. I am very happy with investing in index funds and really don't understand why anyone would do an ETF. It just further facilitaties impulsive buying and selling and furthermore with index fund you can always invest the same amount per month no hassle. But with ETF"s you gotta choose how much shares you're going to buy which again introduces a factor for impulsive actions

  5. Thank you so much for your video, I love it really much. I have a question, could you help me with it? I have heard someone talking online that if you choose index funds, you have to pay the tax of capital gain, which is bad for the long-term investors. However, you don't need to worry about the tax of capital gain for ETF. So, those guys recommend to invest ETF, do you have any comments on that?

  6. I prefer ETFs over Index Funds because:
    – I can auto-reinvest my dividends/gains/distributions with my ETFs! (I use Vanguard) — In the video it was unclear if she was talking about this or about automatic deposits from your bank account into your investments (index funds or ETFs). I did see that Vanguard says "You can't make automatic investments or withdrawals into or out of ETFs."
    – ETFs can have lower expense ratios (compared to their Index Fund equivalent).
    – ETFs don't have the $3,000 minimum purchase that index funds have.

    For example…
My brokerage account is with Vanguard, and for the S&P 500 index, there is an ETF version (VTI) and Index Fund version (VTSAX).

    Expense Ratio:
    The ETF (VTI) 0.03%
    The index fund (VTSAX) 0.04%

Minimum amount required to buy into the fund:
The ETF (VTI) the price of 1 share (currently $200)
    The index fund (VTSAX) $3,000

  7. Nice video!! Very engaging from the beginning to the End., I'm new to crypto trade and I have been making huge losses but recently i see a lot of people earning from it. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

  8. Can I transfer my retirement money from an IRA to an Index Fund without my funds disappearing in federal and state taxes or is an IRA also a form of an Index Fund?
